“Engaged employees stay for what they give (they like their jobs); disengaged employees stay for what they get (favorable working conditions, growth opportunities, job security).” The State of Employee Engagement
We said in the previous edition that when managed effectively, diverse teams can more easily overcome obstacles, adapt to rapid changes and deliver exceptional results. Taking advantage of this diversity means capitalizing on the uniqueness of each individual to build dynamic and resilient teams that drive the progress and success of the company.
It is clear that this generates a favorable work environment in the organization; a positive work environment is reflected in the well-being and satisfaction of employees and has a direct impact on productivity, creativity and organizational commitment.
When we feel valued, listened to and respected in our workplace, we are more motivated to contribute our best effort and talent. A favorable work environment fosters strong interpersonal relationships, promotes collaboration and improves communication between teams and departments.
In addition, a positive work environment reduces stress and interpersonal conflict. As employees, when we enjoy our work environment, we will be more loyal to the organization and willing to commit to its goals and values.
On the other hand, it should be noted that an unfavorable work environment can have significant negative consequences, such as poor performance, lack of commitment, absenteeism and a toxic environment that affects the morale of the entire team.
With the points mentioned above, the organization must work to generate and maintain a favorable work environment not only to benefit employees individually, but also to positively impact customers with these optimal results.
We believe it is critical for leaders and managers to recognize the importance of creating a positive work environment and to dedicate ongoing efforts to cultivate healthy relationships, promote well-being and support the professional development of their teams.
