The most common mistake we make is trying to look young on the outside without caring how we feel on the inside. It all starts with what we eat and how active we are. Smoking, alcohol, and drug use are the most effective aging agents, but fast food and a sedentary lifestyle also contribute to premature aging.
According to experts, the secret lies in a diet rich in antioxidants, which help fight free radicals. However, none of this is effective if our mind is not in sync with our body. If we feel old and are dissatisfied with our appearance, then no amount of dieting, exercise, or expensive cosmetics will make us look younger.
I’d like to share a few beauty tips that can help us look younger:
Change your hair color. The hair color you’re using might make you look older. As we age, our skin tone changes, and as we’ve learned, hair tones should be adjusted to match our skin tone. Besides making us look more beautiful, this can also make us look younger.
Update your makeup. Makeup should suit your age and emphasize areas that may have lost their youthful charm. For example, give more attention to highlighting the eyes. Makeup should also complement changes in hair color. If you decide to go gray, your makeup should adapt to these tones. While gray or silver hair tends to age us on its own, a well-matched makeup look—such as smoky eyes and nude pink lips—can beautifully accentuate these shades.
Try a new haircut or hairstyle. As we age, hormonal changes or a lack of protein may alter the type and texture of our hair—it might go from straight to wavy, curly to straight, or even lose volume. Finding a hairstyle that works with your new texture is essential.
Consult your stylist and ask for their help with these tips. This way, you’ll not only look younger but feel younger too.
